In praise of Miners lettuce.

Do you guys grow this?I think it's American. It grows so well here, just springing up all over the garden each spring and what we don't eat or sell to resteraunts the chickens devour.

Garage sale.

Sometimes I find things that I must have, and then I work out why I MUST have them-I think this was a childhood memory of playing shops,I had the same shaped toy cash register.I might have to paint it fire engine red.

Manipulated Spider

The picture didn't come out as I planned so I worked a little photoshop magic and created something that I really like. Posted by Picasa

Artichoke

Hmmm steamed, stripped to the heart, marinated with fresh tarragon ,salt and olive oil-then bbq'd.I love spring.
I allways let a few go to flower though-because they are so stunning.

This year has been such a stunner for bulbs.Mum and I have been checking out local bulb growers (and their wares). We also took part in a very small and informal bulb show at a local resteraunt-the grand champ is yet to be decided.

Carrots and Potatoes

We are trying the stacked tire method of Potato production this year-you build up the soil as the shoots come through. The carrots went in about a week ago ,if the weather is kind they should be up soon.Fingers crossed I really yearn for proper carrots.

Another boat

This one's landlocked. Guaranteed.

Project For Next Summer

Sue, you could do this now! Make a 2-part mold and insert a tiny hard-skinned gourd, still on the vine, inside it. When the gourd matures, take off the mold, and viola! A large violin!

For D.Dream fodder.

Typically this magnificent beast is built by a man who you would never go to sea with. But oh my,she is pretty.

Crafting girls

While I should be working on my quilt-knitting hats or spinning the wool for M's new vest,Ive got a yen to talk about all the fun Ive been having in the world of craft blogs.Really, check out these girls,so clever and so cool!
There's Purl, she's got Tatts and cats-I love her felted hats.
Miss Dottie,She's getting married in ruby slippers.
Boozehag-Shes a Derby goddess, and has one of the most beautiful babies Ive ever seen.
There are so many more-I think I will have to do this often.

A Gig!!!!!! A Gig!!!!!

Yeah well Tasmania is a long way from anywhere, and its rare that we get a proper psychobilly extraviganza, with boys who dress up and jump about and take their shirts off exposing their heavily tattooed......sorry....sorry-should be fun though!22nd of september.
