Not just a cool mummified cat,this poor creature was found sealed in the foundations of a very old house.There was no way it could have got in there and died,it was probably killed and put there to ward off evil spirits. A tradition in England ,there are a few documented in Australia.Here is a website that goes into it.

The Cruellest Month

Two weeks ago, my flowers looked like this.



Then we had a storm. It knocked down a bunch of big trees; the local town was declared a disaster area, and we were without power (and heat) for 5 days.


















We were luckier than many people, who lost sheds, cars, and roofs in addition to power; nothing fell on our house except snow and the buckets of rain that ended the storm.



Maybe Spring's really here now.

I got this set of large late 1800s photographs at a local tip yesterday .They have the names dates and family info on the back.So I shouldn't have any trouble finding someone who is researching them.
It also gives me an excuse to visit local spinster and keen cyclist Miss Cato(one of the family names on the photos),93 years young.

These pages are too big to scan well,but this shows you a glimpse of the fun we made in Hobart in the 80s.The bands shown were made up jokes for 1 night gigs.Toilet ,an excuse for boys to wear frocks and play rock n roll.Folkegg a prog rock -folk act ,I don't remember why they were wearing flowery doona covers,certainly not a Klan reference .
