Foxes are crepuscular: they're most active at dawn and dusk. When I got up this morning, they were tussling and rolling in the leek bed. Mr. Sorrow will be crushed. Like the leeks.
This is strange and good, that while I am hoping for the death of the handful of foxes that some idiot has let loose in our environment - they will devastate the local inhabitants - I can simultaneously hope for the safety of these ones. I think the internet is a good thing, mostly.
I hope your foxes are terminated with extreme prejudice. My cat wishes the same for ours each time I refuse to let him wander on his own. Why did someone let foxes loose in Tas? Please tell me it wasn't some ghastly hunting nostalgia.
The internets is definitely a good thing: for example, you and Sue have a free bunk in Vermont any old time. Meals included!
I wanted to tell you ... last week around 5:30 am, still pretty dark outside, I saw a cat poking around the house. A cat with pointy ears, a black pointy snout, some black spindly legs and a luxurious fluffy red tail. Poke, poke. So I ran to get my glasses. It wasn't a cat.

Welcome to the foxhole, Bix! Foxes and cats apparently had a common ancestor, therefore the shared slit pupils.
