How did I miss this post? The garden looks fantastic! What kind of snake is that? Very handsome.
It took a couple of days to tweak it, and in the meantime other stuff got posted, so it slipped down the page, that how you missed it.
The snake is a garter snake -- we have one living under the front step and an untold nest of 'em in the composssssst bin. One day I opened the lid to put in some biomass and came face to face with at least 6 basking in its heat. When you surprise them, they just freeze and stare; they don't move until you do. Easy photo subjects!
That all looks just fantastic-so lush and YUM.
