Spuds in bloom

Most of the "Pink Fir Apple" variety of spuds seem to have white flowers...

... but some of them have come up purple.

What we call maori spuds. Some sort of New Zealand yam. Delicious, and pretty flower.

Are those spuds in the tires? The tires aren't visible... I want some maori spuds! They're so pretty!

No, these are the spuds in the "odd" bit of ground between the chook palace and the fence. It got the first batch of barley straw/chook shit from the deep litter. Our friend Brian gave us some pink fir apple seed spuds so off we went. The tyres have DUtch Creams in them I think.
