Are pandani hardy to frost? To how cold? I like tropical-looking things that will grow in our climate. Do you have hens & chickens there? -- a succluent that thrives in our cold rocky soil: http://www.pbase.com/bmacdougall/image/59199277
The frost we had the other morning - the morning of the grass tussock photo - didn't affect the plants at all. I imagine they get snowed on every year up in the hills.
They would have to survive 7 months (at least) of frost and temps down to 30 F below. Though I suppose I could rig a microclimate of some sort. I'm off to check it out... Thanks!

Yes they sure are frost hardy.I have pics somwhere of them covered in snow.
Yes hen and chicks grows well here-its mostley used as a pot plant.
